ALLIANCE UPDATE: GEI Ready to Go for the 2026 Season

The Chautauqua Lake & Watershed Management Alliance recently shared an update in the Post-Journal on April 28. It explains that GEI Consultants will take on a bigger role with lake organizations this season as in-lake work begins.

The article says that GEI project lead AJ Reyes has been working closely with in-lake service providers, including the CLA, discussing strategies to manage excess plant growth and improve overall lake usability.

After work began in 2025, GEI’s updated plans for 2026 include helping to create a more flexible management approach, taking a larger role in managing starry stonewort, and offering real-time guidance to support informed decisions throughout the season.

The article also notes that the Alliance will host its annual May Member meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at the Lawson Center in Bemus Point. The public is welcome to attend.
