CLA’s Boat Steward Program Enters Its Fifth Year

The Chautauqua Lake Association is tasked with providing efficient and effective maintenance services for all Chautauqua Lake users. Part of that is to provide educational services to the community about the ecosystem and environmental lake management practices. This summer marks the fifth straight year that the CLA’s Boat Steward Program has helped educate the public on spread prevention. Funded through a NYS grant, the Steward program hopes to be fully staffed this week. 2020 Employment Opportunity: Boat Stewards

The Chautauqua Lake Association is currently accepting applications for its Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Spread Prevention Program.  The Chautauqua Lake Association (CLA) is seeking qualified individuals to work as Boat Stewards for a regional spread prevention program across Chautauqua County (locations include Chautauqua Lake, Cassadaga Lake and Lake Erie). Stewards will gather data and inspect boats for aquatic invasive species as part of an early detection/rapid response spread prevention effort.
