Phil Persons, Branch Manager Vice President, from the Fairmount Avenue branch of First Niagara Bank made a $5,000 donation to the Chautauqua Lake Association in support of their 2013 lake maintenance efforts.
“The Chautauqua Lake Association is most appreciative of First Niagara Bank’s Foundation support this year,” CLA President Douglas Conroe said. “The support of local businesses and foundations, our members and our public partners, Chautauqua County and New York State, and Lake Municipalities enable us to provide effective and efficient lake maintenance services for the benefit of all Chautauqua Lake users.”
The CLA has been part of the Chautauqua County community for more than sixty years and promotes and facilitates the ongoing scientific study of Chautauqua Lake and its surrounding ecosystem. They provide lake maintenance services including: harvesting, shoreline cleanup, removal of debris, aquatic vegetation and many other in-lake management activities to protect and improve the quality of Chautauqua Lake. They have already removed spring clean-up debris from the lake and are looking forward to serving the community this summer.
President Douglas Conroe added, “Currently, most of our financial support is from individuals and businesses. Our community support is extremely important. We welcome and appreciate this new partner from the area.” Shown from left to right are: Pam Gesaman, Amanda Messina, Phil Persons, Douglas Conroe, Paul Swanson and Jodi Fellows.
