This past Tuesday CLA Executive Director Doug Conroe attended the Fall Partners Meeting of the WNY PRISM (Program for Regional Invasive Species Management.)
Representatives from 8 WNY counties assembled to share information about the status of invasive species situations in their areas. The group also reviewed the appropriateness of the region’s tier ranking system that provides management guidance and action priority ranking in regard to the various invasive species that exist or can be expected to arrive in the region.
A special outtake of the session was the development of an aquatic invasive species listing of species that are not currently here but which are close by and for which the CLA’s Watercraft Stewards need to be vigilant for at their boat launches.
