Dear friends of Chautauqua Lake —
We’d like to express our deepest gratitude to the many supporters and staff that help us continue our mission to maintain, preserve and protect the lake we all love. Their dedication and enthusiasm to serve the lake, truly makes every summer here on Chautauqua Lake the happiest season of all!
We’d also like to thank everyone who has made a contribution to the CLA. Your generous donations directly impact the level of future service that we are able to provide, including:
■ Harvesting – creating navigational lanes, clearing around dock areas
■ Shore work – beautifying shores, clearing floating vegetation in shallow waters
■ Winter Maintenance – overhauling equipment to maximize efficiency
■ Watercraft Stewards – preventing new invasives, public education
If you haven’t made a tax-deductible contribution or if you’d like to give more, there’s still time! You can make your year-end donation online, by phone or a mail a check to the Chautauqua Lake Association, 429 E. Terrace Ave.,
Lakewood, NY 14750
Since 1953, the CLA has provided annual lake maintenance services on Chautauqua Lake, which include harvesting, aquatic vegetation control, shoreline assistance, debris and storm clean-up, as well as scientific monitoring to meet lake needs. Additionally, the CLA has a spread prevention program with watercraft stewards at public launches and offers public awareness and education throughout the year. The CLA is the only entity performing this role for Chautauqua Lake and has the largest fleet of equipment in Western New York. We collaborate regularly with other environmentally oriented organizations about lake, watershed and related social-political issues affecting the lake.
Member contributions and community support determine the services we will provide to lake residents annually, including the size of our fleet, number of employees hired and number of weeks service can be given.
Please consider donating to the Chautauqua Lake Association. Your support ensures Chautauqua Lake is cared for now and in the future.
The Chautauqua Lake Association (CLA), a nonprofit 501(c)3, was incorporated in 1953 and is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. Over 1,400 members donate to the CLA on a yearly basis. In addition to private donations; local, county, and state governmental entities along with private foundations provide supplemental funds as affordable to support the CLA’s annual programs.
