Chautauqua Lake Dragon Boat Festival

The Chautauqua Lake Dragon Boat Festival is a rowing race and community fundraiser for organizations that protect and care for the lake we all love. The event will take place at Celoron Park on Saturday, August 12, 2023.

Past support and participation have helped to make our event an overwhelming success! 24 community teams from local businesses and community groups along with several experienced club teams competed in the 2019 races on Chautauqua Lake. Race participants, co-workers, friends, and family shared an enjoyable and entertaining afternoon of friendly competition on Chautauqua Lake.

Due to COVID we have had to pause this event for the safety of everyone involved. We are very excited to hit the water once again! Bring your friends, enjoy the race competition and don’t forget drummer awards will be given for most interactive and best dressed drummers!

The event planning committee would love to have you consider forming a team and joining us for a rewarding and exhilarating experience racing a Dragon Boat on Chautauqua Lake in 2023. Originating in China over 2,000 years ago, today Dragon Boat racing is the fastest growing team water sports in the world. Teams do not require prior experience, equipment and training will be provided. You simply need the desire to participate and enjoy a friendly athletic contest!

We hope to hear from you TODAY if you would like to be a part of the 2023 event. Please contact Heather Nolan-Caskey at 716-763-8602, or any of our dedicated committee members for additional information.  Paddles Up!

Help ensure that Chautauqua Lake remains the focal point of our community now and into the future!
