CLA Welcomes Dr. Rudy Mueller as Board President

Dr. Rudy Mueller was recently elected President of the Chautauqua Lake Association (CLA) and has served on the Board since 2015.  He is married to Dr. Diane Mueller and they live in Lakewood where they raised their five children.

Dr. Rudy is an Internal Medicine and Geriatric Physician having served patients locally since 1992 at WCA Hospital, Jamestown Primary Care, the Jamestown VA and currently at The Chautauqua Center.

Mueller graduated with a Biomedical Engineering degree with honors from Case Western Reserve University, followed by a Medical Degree from Ohio State University and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Northwestern University Hospitals in Chicago. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY Buffalo. He authored the book, As Sick As it Gets, concerning the problems of the uninsured/underinsured and the excessive costs of health care in the United States.

Rudy enjoys biking, sailing, swimming, and has participated in many triathlons including Chautauqua Lake’s Big Fish and three Ironman events. Mueller has also served elected offices as a Town of Busti Councilman and Chautauqua County Legislator in years past.

Rudy tells the story, “Nearly 40 years ago while driving through this area with Diane, we saw Chautauqua Lake for the first time. The Lake was amazing and we both agreed, “This would be a great place to live and raise a family!” Ironically almost a decade later, the WCA Hospital Board and local leaders recruited us from Chicago. And fortunately for our family we said Yes! The entire Mueller family loves Chautauqua Lake and I am honored to serve as the next President of the CLA. As President, I promise the entire CLA team will try its best to preserve and protect this beautiful lake for all to enjoy now and hopefully for many future generations of families to come.”
