2014 CLA Fund Drive

2014 CLA Fund Drive

Greetings!

We have great news. Spring is on the way and the Chautauqua Lake Association is once again ready to meet the aquatic vegetation control needs of Chautauqua Lake.

No other entity exists locally to do what the CLA does.

As the Steward of the Lake since 1954, the CLA provides significantly more services than simply harvesting nuisance weeds. We perform annual general lake maintenance, aquatic vegetation control, floating debris removal, shoreline and post-storm clean-up, plus scientific monitoring to meet lake management needs. We are the only entity performing these roles for Chautauqua Lake. We collaborate regularly with other organizations about lake, watershed and related social-political issues affecting Chautauqua Lake.

Our annual fund drive is the backbone of our member support. Participation in the fund drive is critical to the CLA being able to financially sustain itself for summer work to occur. We offer the most cost effective and environmentally friendly solution to lake maintenance. We also keep ourselves informed of other options. Every analysis that we have undertaken has always concluded that abandoning our current method would, in the end, be more costly and fail to meet the accomplishment of serving all lakeside communities in addition to posing serious environmental issues. Given the lake’s evolutionary state, annual lake maintenance always will be essential no matter what alternative options are used on the lake.

Your contributions ensure that Chautauqua Lake is cared for – now and in the future!

Enclosed please find your personalized contribution pledge card. Returning your card today or donating on our website will enable us to launch our fleet for summer service. We do not have guaranteed annual funding. We can only work to the extent that we are funded. 2014’s lake maintenance needs are estimated to approach $700,000. We need your help to allow us to be able to serve.

Visit our website at www.chautauqualakeassociation.org and follow us on Facebook. Your donation will be greatly appreciated and will certainly be put to good use. All dollars donated are expended on Chautauqua Lake management needs. We do not expend dollars elsewhere. Our all-volunteer board is steadfast to its nonprofit 501(c)(3) mission.
